Relations between Africa and China have been tested by the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Disruption to travel, trade and investment caused a synchronized downturn in all but a few economies in Africa last year. Despite this, Sino-African relations will remain strong in 2021 and new frontiers of co-operation will be explored, presenting both opportunities and challenges for African states.
