Australian Strategic Policy Institute Executive Director Peter Jennings says the agreement between the Solomon Islands and China is “simply unacceptable.” It comes as a leaked document reveals the Solomon Islands will allow Chinese military forces to be stationed on the Pacific nation, including major projects. Mr Jennings said Australia has been too distracted and has not invested enough in the Pacific region over the last decade. “This is going to require quick, and firm, and decisive action from the Australian government,” he told Sky News Australia. “We cannot allow this to happen.”
