The assembly of French Polynesia organizes the Conference of the Group of Parliaments of the Pacific Islands (GPIP) on “the blue economy” on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday, September 11, 2019.
This event, to which speakers of parliaments from all over Oceania have been invited, will be able to discuss common issues, share their knowledge and experiences in order to create a real Knowledge Hub on the blue economy. This year, the debate will focus on the blue economy and specifically on two axes: Fisheries, a key sector of the blue economy and the resilience of the Pacific Ocean. At the end of this debate, the parliaments will sign a joint declaration that will highlight the commitments of each.
The blue economy and its challenges concern all Pacific societies and the purpose of this event is of course to allow parliamentarians to share and share on this subject but also and above all to involve the public in the debates. This is why during the sessions, which will be broadcast live on the facebook page of the event and on this website, Internet users will be able to ask questions to parliamentarians who will answer simultaneously.
