Du Bin, professor and doctor of Medical ICU at Peking Union Medical College Hospital and president of the Chinese Association of Critical Care Physicians, spoke about lessons learned from the novel coronavirus outbreak.
In the initial stage, some healthcare members were infected with COVID-19 due to lack of the knowledge that this is a human-to-human transmission disease. The other was lack of protective equipment. When the supplies became adequate, no healthcare doctors were infected any more. Another lesson is that specialists, like ENT doctors and eye doctors, become more easily infected due to close contact.
